Your data is yours

This Privacy Policy explains how Synth88 Labs ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Vetara mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By using Vetara, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details — your name, email address, and (optionally) country and phone number, used to create and secure your account.
  • Pet & health data — pet profiles (name, species, breed, sex, birthdate, microchip ID) and the records you choose to track: vaccinations, medications, weight, vet visits, food, grooming, expenses, activity, quality-of-life scores, symptoms and notes.
  • Documents & photos — files and images you upload (e.g. vaccine certificates, lab results, invoices, photos of lumps or marks).
  • Sharing data — email addresses you enter to share a pet with family or a sitter.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical data — app version, device type and operating system, used to keep the app working and to fix issues. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.

We do not require precise location, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide the Service — store and display your pets' records, generate reminders, reports and shareable profiles.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To send essential account emails (e.g. email verification and password reset).
  • To power optional features you choose to use (for example, scanning a document to pre-fill a form).
  • To diagnose problems and improve reliability.

3. Service providers we use

We share limited data with trusted providers only to operate the Service:

  • Supabase — secure cloud database, authentication and file storage for your account and records.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional emails (verification, password reset) from no-reply@vetara.synth88.com.
  • Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple — optional sign-in methods you may choose; they verify your identity, and we receive your basic profile (name/email).
  • Google (Gemini API) — if you use the optional "Scan to fill" feature, the photo you capture is sent to Google's Gemini service to extract text, then returned to pre-fill the form. Don't use this feature for documents you don't wish to process this way.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not share your data with advertisers.

4. When information is shared

  • At your direction — if you generate a read-only share link/QR code, or invite a household member by email, the people you share with can view that pet's records. You can disable a share link or remove access at any time.
  • Legal reasons — if required by law, regulation or valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety and security.

5. Data security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your records is restricted to your account through row-level security, and uploaded files are kept in a private storage area accessible only to you and those you explicitly share with. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account, pets and records and cannot be undone. You may also email us to request deletion.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us using the details below.

8. Children's privacy

Vetara is intended for adults (pet owners) and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence (including by the providers listed above). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
